I joined a pace team that seemed to run like greyhounds chasing a rabbit! I was anticipating a steady 8:35-ish pace but clocked 7:00/m in some spots. Consequently my goal of 3:40 wasn't met, but this is my best time for a marathon to date, and I'm very happy with the result. Particularly as I felt great throughout, just didn't quite have the legs for the last three miles.

If I'm not mistaken, (or have been led astray), my time qualifies me for Boston as I'll be 60 in 2012.

Great job, Sketcher! Everyone I've talked to that ran it had a great time and if you got that BQ, all the much more awesome!! You'll get that 3:40 next year! If I'm reading your accomplishments correctly, you improved by 20 mins from 1997 and 45 from last year?? That is incredible!

Huge congrats!!

Thanks B&S. I'm still on a post-runners high! I'm going to apply for Boston in October and if I don't get in, my next target will be for Pittsburgh 2012 as the fastest in my new division.
